What does it mean to write books in other niches?

To write books in other niches is about your ability to produce quality books on topics where you are not an expert. I have done that severally and the books have done very well.

Once in a while, you may just want to write a solution to a popular problem where you are not an expert for the following reasons:

  • The topic is hot
  • You want to make money from it
  • Do you want to contribute your quota to

How do you write books in other niches?

I have written severally in most of my books on self-publishing about the need for authors to carry out research in different niches to discover hot and evergreen niches they can work on as book projects.

But how do you produce great ebooks in these niches especially when you are not an expert in those areas? This section will show you the different ways you can do this.

Get the best of our self-publishing resources today. They are all best sellers.

Outsourcing strategy

You can outsource every part of the publishing process. Yes, you can do this and it’s about the simplest way to produce good and quality ebooks in any niche of your choice.

It’s just that this strategy comes with a cost – you may have to pay for the services of professionals we call Ghostwriters or Freelancers.

Who are Ghostwriters?

Ghostwriters are writers for hire who are paid but receive none of the credit for the work produced. There are generally two parties involved in this professional business relationship:

Author: He or she hires the freelance writer to produce content for an agreed-upon fee. He or she takes credit for all the original work produced.

The Ghost: This professional is the writer who is generally paid in advance of completing the job, gets the money as a “work for hire” job, and assumes none of the credit for their ghostwriting work.

Do we use this strategy in our organization?

We don’t use the services of Ghostwriters or Freelancers in our organization because we also offer Ghostwriting services or freelancing services. Contact us if you want this service

We have offered these services for many years now. So we are well qualified to produce good ebooks in any niche of our choice and get them published online.

So if you want these services from us, you can just reach out to us. We will deliver a great job for you.

Services rendered by Ghostwriters

The following are some of the services Ghost writers can render to you:

  • Ebook Writing services (whether fiction or nonfiction)
  • Ebook cover design or graphic services
  • Ebook publication services (Some can even help you to publish your ebooks or paperback books w Amazon or any other stores)
  • Ebook marketing services (some offer different levels of publicity and marketing services for authors)

How do you engage the services of Ghostwriters?

Over the years, Ghost Writing services have become popular online and there are lots of individuals and agencies that have gotten involved now. Though this is good it calls for caution.

A contract with the wrong person will go a long way to harm you and your business in many ways. The following are some of the processes you have to follow to hire good Ghostwriters and get a good service.

  • Identify the job you want to be done for you. You should ensure you have all the details.
  • Determine the time limit required to complete the job.
  • Take your search online for a credible professional to do the job for you.
  • Just before you take your search online or settle for any expert, you can ask for recommendations from a friend who has experience hiring professionals. If you can get one this way, it can save you a lot of disappointments from a Ghost writer who will do a bad job.

Use middle agents for Ghostwriting services

I advise you to use ‘middle agents’ online services to hire Ghostwriters for your jobs. This will, at least, ensure you get the best jobs done for you before you a professional. Please examples of these ‘middle agents’ below.

Examples of ‘middle agents’ online services

You can register at the following websites to hire professionals who have registered with them to do your jobs. These online services will act as middle agents between you and these professionals. They will not be paid until you are satisfied with the job.

Artificial intelligence and ChatGpt

Apart from the outsourcing strategy and the use of Ghostwriting services discussed above, the new wave now is Artificial intelligence and ChatGpt.

This is just about machines doing all the writing for you. That sounds great but there is surely a negative side to this. Machines can’t write like humans except you are going to do a lot of editing on the produced works.

This is still new and lots of improvement is still going to come into place with this.

I will write more about this in the future.

I hope you enjoyed this. I want to read your comment on how you have written in other niches where you are not an expert.

Apple adds Buy Now Pay Later: What you need to know

What you need to know about the latest development as Apple adds Buy Now Pay Later to digital wallet will be explained innthis press statement as captured through JVZoo.

Read the press statement below:

Apple has become the latest company to embrace the buy now, pay later trend by adding the option to their digital wallet.

Apple will allow customers to pay for purchases in installments with a new feature called “Apple Pay Later”.

It will allow customers to split payments for purchases into four installments over six weeks, with the first installment due at the time of purchase. Customers will also be given the option to apply for a loan within the Wallet app, ranging from $50 to $1000, with no interest or fees.

This option will be rolling out to select users in the United States now, with plans to offer it to all eligible customers in the coming months, according to a company release.

Many consumers have turned to “buy now, pay later” apps such as Affirm, Klarna, and Afterpay to help stretch their budgets during these times of high inflation. Some experts, however, are worried that this will cause consumers to simply take on more debt.

Terri R. Bradford, a research specialist in payment systems for the Kansas City Federal Reserve, said, “So the possibility is that you could, in your mind, think of everything that you’re buying in those four installments and, as a result, take on more debt that you would if you had to pay for them in full each and every time.”

Despite this, Apple is optimistic about its new program, with Jennifer Bailey, vice president of Apple Pay and Apple Wallet, stating, “There’s no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to how people manage their finances. Many people are looking for flexible payment options, which is why we’re excited to provide our users with Apply Pay Later.

About KDP Global Fund

If you want to know what the KDP global fund  (Kindle Select global fund) is all about, then this post is just right for you.

For some years now, Amazon has used the KDP global fun MD to pay authors whose books are published on her platform.

What’s this fund all about? How do you profit from it as an author who has books published on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing? Read on.

What is Amazon KDP global fund?

Amazon KDP global fund also known as the Kindle Select Global Fund is based on the subscription fees paid by the total number of Kindle Unlimited (KU) members.

As a result of the fact above, as KU members join or leave, the KDP Global Fund changes (increases or decreases).

The program allows authors to receive payouts for the previous month’s page reads of their book(s).

Global fund payouts

The global fund payouts vary according to the readers’ home country. According to Amazon:

The share of funds allocated to each country varies based on a number of factors, such as exchange rates, customer reading behavior, and local subscription pricing. Author earnings are then determined by their share of total pages read, up to a total of 3,000 pages per customer per title.” For more explanation, see “Royalties in Kindle Unlimited.”)

To qualify for Amazon KDP global fund payouts,  you must be enrolled in KDP Select. Enrollment in KDP select makes your ebook “exclusive” to Amazon and available through Kindle Unlimited. This implies that your published ebook on Amazon must not be published as an ebook in any other online store or library.

When an Amazon KU member reads your ebook, you get paid for every page they read.

You should understand that the KDP global fund payouts do not in any way stop the self-publishing royalties you receive from Amazon when your book is purchased the usual way on Amazon.com.

What is Amazon Attribution?

If you want to know what Amazon Attribution is and also know how to add that to your streams of income as an author or publisher, this post is just right for you.

What is Amazon Attribution? A guide for authors

Amazon Attribution is available to all authors on Amazon with an active Amazon Advertising account. This is an interesting tool that works perfectly to ensure you gain more access to more sales on the Amazon store.

Authors can set up their Advertising account by clicking the “Marketing” tab of either their KDP dashboard or Amazon Author Central account.

How Amazon Attribution works

Amazon Attribution works in a simple way and anyone can get it done effectively.

The Amazon Attribution tool allows you to generate special, trackable product links that you can use in your marketing and advertising campaigns.

After some days, Amazon will show you all the traffic that visited these links. This is called the Details Pages Views. Amazon will also show you the following:

  • Resulting Orders
  • Sales value
  • KENP reads (for books enrolled in Kindle Unlimited).

How to access Amazon Attribution

You can access Amazon Attribution by logging into your Amazon Advertising account, you’ll find Amazon Attribution in the sidebar, under “Measurement & Reporting.”

Amazon Attribution is similar to Amazon Advertising in terms of the way they are structured when you consider the Campaigns and Ad groups tabs.

Each Campaign can have many Ad groups. Each Ad group corresponds to a trackable link.

About Attribution links and Attribution campaign

Attribution links can only point to one product on the Amazon store but an Attribution campaign can contain several products — and will report on the sales of all the products included in the campaign.

If you’re selling ebook, paperback, and hardback formats of a book., You can include all three formats in an Amazon Attribution campaign,

However, the Attribution links you set up in your Ad groups can only point to only one of the formats (for example the paperback format).

Sales report in Amazon Attribution

If a customer clicks on that link and buys a different format, Amazon Attribution will report that sale only if you included that other format in your campaign.

It’s the same process for book series: if all your books in the series are included in an Attribution campaign, and a customer buys three of them, all three sales will be displayed in your Attribution dashboard. You should however understand that the sales must happen within 14 days of the link click.

I hope you loved this post on the Amazon Attribution program. It provides another exciting way to make money on Amazon.

How Amazon pays royalties through Payoneer

If you want to know how Amazon pays royalties through Payoneer, then this article is for you.

Amazon pays authors’ book royalties through different ways but the option to receive eBook royalties through Payoneer was added some years ago. A lot of authors on Amazon KDP have found this option useful and convenient.

How to register a Payoneer account

Amazon pays royalties through Payoneer: What you need to know

This is what you need to know about how Amazon pays royalties through Payoneer.

This is the way it works with Amazon and Payoneer in terms of receiving your royalties

Amazon pays after 60 days

Amazon sends your book earnings for December (for example) at February ending. There is a 60 days period your royalties sit in your account before it’s sent to Payoneer.

This is to allow for any refund to the customer if such issues come up.

So you may have royalties in your account that have not been sent to Payoneer.

Amazon sends an email showing royalties details

Amazon will always send an email to you some days before your payment is sent to Payoneer. Usually, they send payment to Payoneer on the 27th to 29th of the month.

Visit our Publishing resources page to gain access to our step-by-step guide on how to publish your books on Amazon KDP and How we have sold lots of ebooks on Amazon KDP

Amazon deducts tax

You should know that Amazon deducts 30% tax from your royalties to be paid to US authorities if your listed country of origin does not have any tax treaty with the United States government.

Payoneer deducts charges

When your money gets to Payoneer, they deduct their charges too. Usually, $1 is deducted from each payment received.

Amazon pays each royalty from each of its stores separately. For example, they pay UK, US, and CA sales differently.

When each royalties payment gets to Payoneer, they deduct $1 from each.
If your royalties from UK or US or CA are not up to $1 they deduct everything!

Place a hold on your Amazon payment

If you are not selling many ebooks on Amazon, it’s better you place a hold on your Amazon payment and let them pay you quarterly. This will help you reduce the charges Payoneer deducts from each of the payments they receive from Amazon.

Amazon KDP and local bank account

Really, we are looking for the day Amazon will let Nigerians and some countries use our local bank accounts directly. Amazon only pays into local bank accounts in some selected countries in the world.

Pausing your Amazon royalties payment

Send an email to Amazon support to pause your payment. When you want to receive your payment, write an email to them to release it. They will pay the backlog immediately to your Payoneer account.

You can find Amazon contact details at the bottom of the page when you log in to your Amazon account dashboard. Click on contact at the bottom.

On the left side, you will find some categories of topics, click on the one for payment. To the right, you will see an option to send n email or phone call
Click the one for sending an email. You can follow the process to send your email.

What is Amazon Kindle book price match?

If you have wondered, What is Amazon Kindle book price match, this post will give a very simple explanation of what this is all about.

If you publish your books on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) and you want to sell more ebooks on Amazon, then you must know what it means to price match your book on Amazon.

Related: What is Amazon KDP publishing

Just what is Amazon Kindle book price match?

Amazon Kindle book price match is the process where Amazon changes your ebook price on its platform to the same price it’s available in other major estores.

Some of the major stores are the ones that are most especially, located in the United States where Amazon has its main online store (Amazon.com).

Why does Amazon price match your book price?

Amazon prices match your book price on its platform to the same price it’s available in other estores because it wants to give its customers the best deals your book is available online.

Therefore, if your book is $0 or free on stores like Apple, Kobo, and Barnes and Noble, Amazon will change your book’s price on its platform to free or $0.

Likewise, if your book is priced at any other price higher or lower than it is priced on its platform, Amazon will try to price match your book’s price.

Can you request a price match?

Yes, you can request a price match for your book on Amazon KDP. Though Amazon usually carries out its check to find this out ( I believe they won’t be able to do this effectively though), you can always request a price match by sending an email to Amazon support.

There is a category on the support page where a template is already provided to send your email effectively and successfully.

You will be providing the following information in your email:

  • The ASIN of the book you want to price match
  • The price of the book in other stores online
  • The links to the book’s page on these online stores

What are the benefits of price matching your book’s price on Amazon

There are some benefits of price matching your book’s price on Amazon but I will be mentioning one of them in this post based on our experience.

Sell your book at $0 on Amazon

Naturally, Amazon will not allow you to price your book at $0 or free when you publish your book or update its price. However, you can still sell your ebook for free on Amazon by asking for a price match.

However, before you can get this done successfully, you must have published your ebook as free on estores like Apple, Kobo, and Barnes and Noble.

After your book is available as free on these online stores for ebook publishing, you should copy the links to your book on these stores and use the information when you are requesting a price match for your book on Amazon as I showed above.

I hope you loved this post. Please let me read your comment. I want you to share the post with your friends on social media.

Going wide with your books

Smashwords or Draft2digital publishes your book and also helps you to distribute it to all their major ebook stores and online library partners. This way, your book has the chance of reaching as many people online as possible.

However, we have seen authors who prefer to publish their books only on Amazon. These authors have chosen that their published books on Amazon KDP should be on the exclusive list.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both forms of ebook publishing.
