A book series on Amazon is like a sectional grouping where authors on Amazon KDP can arrange their books. Authors can either put books that are in series together in a group or put books that look very much alike in a group.
Either way, this helps to increase the exposure of books to readers. Readers can know of more published books by authors after they visit the book page of a book on Amazon.

How to add your book to a series on Amazon KDP (step-by-step guide)
This is the step-by-step guide on how to add your book to a series on Amazon KDP:
Log in to your Amazon KDP dashboard
Go to the published book you want to add to a series page on Amazon KDP and move to the far right of the book section. (Note that I am assuming you have already created and published your book series on Amazon KDP already. If you don’t know how to do that, please read this post )
Click the three dots to the far right of the book section to see a drop-down menu:
Click on Add to series (see picture above)
On the next page, as shown above, you can either create a new series or your ads to an existing series. In this case, you are adding to an existing series. So click on the appropriate button above.
Can you see an existing book series pages that I have already created in my Amazon KDP dashboard above (Mind Power)? If you have created one already or you have created more than one, you should just click on the appropriate one.
On the next page above, you will either choose whether the book you are adding to this series page on Amazon KDP is the main content or related content in the series. I leave you to choose that for your book.

On the next page above you have to confirm the book information and continue.
You are done. Amazon will approve or disapprove your submission within 24 hours.
